A christmas makeup look (1940's inspired)

This makeup look is simple eye makeup and focuses on the lips.  The eye makeup is 1940s inspired and if paired with a classic red lip it would be complete. However my outfit for Christmas day doesn't match red lips as I am planning on wearing a plum coloured skater skirt, therefore I switched it up to suit the rest of the look. Although if you're not into bold lipstick, or it doesn't go with your outfit you could easily wear a mauve or nude lip (I recommend 'Syrup' or 'Velvet Teddy' from Mac).
Anyways here is the order of application and the products I used. I usually apply foundation first. However I did the eye shadow first because there is a bit of shimmery fall out from the shade 'Side Car'. I have skipped steps like mascara and powder because they're little things that change for personal preference, just use your favourite mascara and powder to set foundation or if you would like a dewy finish then only powder the T-zone.

1. Primer. Primer is very important to prevent eye shadow from creasing and overall is a great base for the application of makeup. I use the ‘Primer Potion’ by Urban Decay because I haven’t managed to find a cheaper alternative.

2. I then used three shades from the ‘Naked’ palette by Urban Decay. I first used ‘Side Car’ which is a gorgeous champagne shade, all over the lid. Then  I used ‘Naked’ which is a light matte shade, in the crease. I then used a tiny bit of ‘Buck’ in the crease for a bit more definition. If you prefer more definition just add a little bit at a time. Since ‘Buck’ is a matte darker brown it can easily  get too dark. Also don't forget to highlight the brow bone, this will make eyes appear bigger.
3. That’s it for eye shadow. However If you would like the eyes  more defined. You could do your choice of eye liner. I would do a winged liner or for a subtle look I would use ‘Buck’ on the bottom and top lash line.

Once eye shadow is applied, then I apply a face primer. The one I used was the Bourjois 'Happy Light' primer. I like this primer because it makes my dull skin appear dewy and improves the lasting power of any foundation that I've used.

I then apply one layer of foundation. This one by Rimmel London is incredible. I'm not quite sure that it lasts 25hours. Although when I went to Paris, I applied this at 6am and removed it at 11pm. It lasted all day, I was impressed.
I then apply this blush on my cheek bones. Its in the shade 'Luminoso' by Milani. I love this blush, it's got a slight coral tone to it, although the camera has washed it out a little bit. I love this blush it illuminates my cheekbones which allows me to skip highlighting.

And finally, the lipstick! I'm using this gorgeous shade by Rimmel London, its affordable, long lasting   and great quality.

Sorry for it being so long, hope your enjoyed It! I'm in the process of trying to sort out all the fonts, I don't like that they're all different.

July Favourites!

Apologies for it being slightly late, summer is going so quickly, the first week of August has already gone. wow!

Anyways lets jump straight in with my beauty favourites...

Lip products:
Of course my beloved Revlon Just Bitten Kissable lip stain in the shade 'Lovesick' has played a huge role in the month of July. Love it.
Next is another lip crayon but this is by Rimmel London in the shade 'On Fire'. Its a beautiful red and smells incredible!
Now, if you didn't notice I do love my bold lip colours. However some days I like to have a more casual look but still would like a wash of colour and moisture on my lips. This is where Maybelline 'Baby lips' comes in. I use the Cherry one, as I feel this on has much more pigment. Perfect for everyday use, especially if you don't like wearing vibrant colours.

My favourite face products:
First is the Bourjois healthy mix serum gel foundation. I've had this for a while now, I'd like to say since Easter. I have really enjoyed using this foundation in the summer months because its light weight, glides easily onto the skin and doesn't cling onto to any dry patches which is awesome since I have extremely dry skin. Its light coverage, which I don't mind at all, I don't particularly like wearing full coverage. I like to let my skin breath.
Next is this concealer by Maybelline 'Anti eye eraser'. I don't usually wear concealer since it dries my skin out and would tend to not sit right on my skin. However this concealer has a creamy consistency therefore it doesn't dry out my skin and sit beautifully under the eyes.

My favourite mascara, in fact its my all time favourite. I have been on the hunt this summer to find the 'perfect' mascara. I haven't been successful, yet. Nothing I try seems to do better than this mascara by Rimmel London 'Sexy curves'. It volumizes and lengthens which is exactly what I look for in a mascara, so maybe I have found the perfect mascara for me after all.

Over all not many favourites, but honestly I haven't been wearing a lot of makeup lately, its far too hot.

Have you been enjoying any beauty products in particular? Let me know in the comments I would love to try new products.

Top 5 favourite drugstore summer lipsticks

Excuse the fairly long title, I guess I just like to be precise. Since I LOVE lipsticks I thought I would share with you all my favourite summer lipsticks which is full of vibrant colours. So in no particular order we shall begin...

1.Maybelline colour sensational in the shade 'Coral Tonic'. This summer I have been trying to push myself to wear more orange coloured lipsticks, ( a shade I typically would avoid, purely because I thought it was too 'out there'). However I bought this in hope it would suit my pale skin, which fortunately it does! Its a gorgeous shade.

 2. The Bourjois Rouge edition velvet in 'Frambourjoise'.
This is a beautiful pink with a matte finish, I don't usually wear matte lip products as I find them too drying on the lips. However this has the 'velvet' touch which makes the lips not feel dry. Also its long lasting which is a huge plus.

3. The Bourjois shine edition in the shade 'Mauve tabloid'. I am absolutely in love with this lipstick. I love plum lipsticks, and I usually only wear plum shades in autumn and winter but this lipstick is a more natural shade which you can have for everyday use, I certainly do!

4. Revlon lip butter in the shade 'Wild watermelon'.
This is a gorgeous red which I think anyone could pull off, its bright without being too bold.

5.  Revlon just bitten kissable lip stain 'Lovesick'. I love the Revlon lip stains because the lasting power is amazing! Usually there are deals at boots like 2 for £10, which means I own 'quite' a few shades now.
So there we have it, my top 5 drugstore summer lipsticks, which lipsticks have you been wearing the most this summer?

1. Maybelline colour tattoo 'on and on bronze'.
2. Soap and Glory 'Supercat' eyeliner.
3. Models own eyelash curler.
4.Bourjois healthy mix serum in the shade '52 Vanilla'
5. Soap and Glory blusher brick 'Peach Party'.
6. Maybelline mascara 'Great Lash'.
7.Revlon Just Bitten Kissable lip stain 'Smitten'.
